Day One: April 25, 2024
On the afternoon of Thursday, April 25, 2024, the Director of the Regional Center for People with Special Needs, on behalf of the General Director, along with the staff of the Social Hub of Tafersit, welcomed a Belgian delegation composed of professors and students.
The visit, organized in coordination with the Tafersit Care Association, lasted two days and included several centers under the Social Hub.
The reception took place at the Regional Center for Elderly Care in Tafersit, where the Director presented the institution’s social services — the first of its kind in the province. The delegation toured the facilities and met with residents, who warmly expressed their gratitude for this human and compassionate gesture.
Afterward, the delegation, accompanied by the Director, visited the Regional Center for People with Special Needs. They were given a detailed presentation on the center’s mission, achievements, and development — from its founding and equipment to its operation — making it a regional and provincial model in supporting children with disabilities.
During the visit, the guests toured classrooms, workshops, and activity spaces, observing firsthand the multidisciplinary work carried out with children and their families.
Later that afternoon, in coordination with local authorities, the delegation explored the natural and touristic sites of the Tafersit area, including its springs, water streams, and century-old trees. Notably, they visited Ain Thra Ennasser and its surroundings in Bni Aâdhia, Tafersit Commune, Driouch Province.
In the evening, the delegation was hosted by the Dar Taliba Tafersit boarding school for girls, where they learned about the institution’s key role in promoting education in rural areas and combating school dropout among girls.
Day Two: April 26, 2024
As part of the exchange of experiences between the Tafersit Regional Center and the Belgian delegation, visitors were distributed among classrooms and workshops to work directly with children with disabilities.
The guests observed the center’s specialized approach to individualized rehabilitation, designed for each child according to a structured program supervised by a multidisciplinary team covering different fields of intervention.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation was received once again by the Director of the Regional Center for People with Special Needs, on behalf of the General Director of the Social Hub, who was unable to attend due to professional commitments. He expressed deep gratitude for their visit and their interest in the social and humanitarian work carried out by the Tafersit Social Hub to support vulnerable groups and promote local development.
In turn, the delegation coordinator thanked the Director and all staff members for their warm welcome and hospitality, expressing admiration for the quality and professionalism of the services provided by the visited institutions.
She emphasized that this visit will not be the last — the team intends to organize regular exchange programs to strengthen cooperation and share experiences in fields targeted by the Social Hub of Tafersit.
