On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, the Provincial Center for the Care and Housing of Elderly Persons in Tafersit organized, on Saturday, October 3, 2026, a communicative and social gathering to celebrate this humanitarian occasion, under the theme:
“The Elderly… A Nation’s Memory and Endless Giving”
This activity falls within the framework of taking interest in older persons, recognizing the efforts and contributions they have made throughout their lives, and emphasizing the necessity of preserving their dignity and enhancing their status within society, as an essential part of its history and living memory.
This gathering was attended by a number of beneficiaries of the center’s services, its staff, alongside several guests, actors, and partners. The occasion provided an opportunity for communication and for sharing moments of joy and affection, in a distinguished family atmosphere that reflected the spirit of solidarity and care that the center strives to consolidate.
Furthermore, the celebration served as an opportunity to commend the role played by the National Mutual Assistance (Entraide Nationale) institution in accompanying and supporting vulnerable social groups, as well as the efforts made by the Association for Sustainable Development in Tafersit and the center’s staff to provide housing, care, and social, health, and psychological support for elderly persons.
The festive atmosphere was characterized by a spirit of joy and cheerfulness, as the elderly benefited from recreational, artistic, and communicative segments that helped bring happiness to their hearts and reinforced their sense of being cared for and appreciated.
In a speech delivered on this occasion, it was emphasized that caring for elderly persons is not merely a social service, but rather a shared human and societal responsibility requiring the combined efforts of various stakeholders to ensure a dignified and safe life for this group, while listening to their needs and feelings.
The gathering concluded in a remarkably festive atmosphere that embodied the values of giving and loyalty toward a generation that contributed to building society, reinforcing the message that age does not diminish a person’s worth, and that the elderly remain a living memory of society and an endless source of experience, wisdom, and dedication.
