In a friendly and cooperative atmosphere, the Regional Center for the Care and Shelter of Elderly People in Tafersit welcomed an official delegation from the Municipality of Vic (Spain), attended by the President of Midar Municipality and several local stakeholders.
The delegation was received by the General Director of the Social Pole, the Center Director, and the staff team, all of whom warmly welcomed this initiative as part of a strategy to engage with successful international experiences.
The visit was attended by various local and regional figures, including the Presidents of the Midar and Tafersit Municipalities, the Head of the Social Affairs Department at the Prefecture of Driouch, the Delegate of the National Cooperation Sector, Ms. Naïma Taous — member of the Oriental Regional Council — a representative from the Health Department, and other social care actors.
During the visit, the delegation toured the center’s facilities, learning about services in healthcare, psychological and social support, recreational activities, and housing conditions. Delegates also inquired about the center’s management, the categories of beneficiaries, and the mechanisms of support and follow-up.
They expressed great admiration for the quality of services and the care provided to residents, praising the organization and dedication of the administrative and technical staff.
The visit concluded with a small celebratory “coffee break,” where guests enjoyed traditional Moroccan breakfast dishes, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere that reflected Moroccan hospitality.
This visit further strengthens the position of the Tafersit Regional Center as a leading social institution locally and internationally, and reinforces cooperation between Morocco and Spain in the field of social protection for vulnerable groups.
